Vocal : Murali Pavithran (Vocalist, Violinist, Composer, Teacher)

Murali Pavithran hails from a family of musicians. He started his music lessons from Smt. Poosarla Manorama (grand daughter of Violin Wizard Dwaram Venkatswamy Naidu) and later came under the tutelage of Sri. Peri Sri Rama Murthy and Kum. Kanyakumari. He obtained his certificate(4 years) and diploma degree(+2 years) with honors distinction from Sri. Bhaktha Ramadas Govt. College of Music and Dance, Hyderabad be. He is also the recipient of the Govt. of India scholarship for excellence in music for 7 years. He has learnt vocal music from Sri. KR Subramanyam (Hyderabad) and Smt. T R Balamani (Mumbai) and is currently learning vocal music from Sri. Neyveli Santhanagopalan and Smt. Mangalam Shankar.

Murali is one of the most sought after musicians in the concert and arangetram circuit in the US owing to his keen sensitivity and support of not only the artist but also the concert and arangetram format. He has performed in numerous concerts and arangetrams around the world both on vocal and violin. He received the Best Musician Award from Parthasarathy Swami Sabha during the recent music season in Chennai and has won several prizes and awards for vocal and violin music. He has performed in all the prestigious sabhas at the elite Music Season held annually in Chennai and Hyderabad on both vocal and violin - the salient of which are Parthasarathy Swamy Sabha, Kartik Fine Arts, Sannidhi Academy, Brahma Gana Sabha, Meenakshi Sundararajan Trust, Chrompet Cultural Academy, Mylapore Fine Arts, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nungambakkam Cultural Academy and Desika Sabha.

Apart from Carnatic Music, Murali has composed music for contemporary productions, films and dance dramas. He was the composer and musical director for a contemporary production 'Yavanika' that premiered in Seattle in 2014 and received rave reviews from sold out crowds. He was the music composer for the film 'The Squint Painter' that received critical acclaim. He has collaborated and performed with flamenco artists, poets, painters and avant-garde musicians in different parts of the world to create art that is traditional, fresh and unique at the same time. He also holds a sound engineering diploma and composes music in classical and contemporary genres. Muraliis a graduate of IIT and UCLA and lives in Los Angeles where he also works as VP & Head of Analytics and Business Intelligence.
